How Qatar Gratuity Is Calculated
Qatar end-of-service gratuity is usually estimated based on the employee’s salary and total period of service. The standard minimum gratuity calculation commonly used is 21 days for each completed year of service, provided the employee has completed at least one year of employment.
The general formula used by this calculator is:
Basic Monthly Salary ÷ 30 × Gratuity Days × Years of Service
For example, if an employee’s basic monthly salary is QAR 5,000 and the employee has completed 3 years of service, the estimated gratuity using 21 days per year would be:
QAR 5,000 ÷ 30 × 21 × 3 = QAR 10,500
What to Check Before Finalizing Gratuity
The calculator gives an estimated amount only. Before finalizing the employee’s end-of-service payment, employers should review the employment contract, company policy, salary structure, unpaid leave, deductions, and any other amounts payable to the employee.
For companies, gratuity should not be handled as a standalone calculation. It should be reviewed together with final salary, leave balance, deductions, payroll records, WPS requirements, and employee exit documents.
